I enjoyed my time at #CSUNATC17 this year. This year I was able to present on Making AAC Fun and Functional. While I have given local talks within my district, this was the first time I presented at a large conference. It was both exciting and frightening.
Below is a link to my presentation. I wanted to share some of the things that I have learned about using AAC. In my session I share about:
- Making core vocabulary functional for the child
- Using modeling to promote growth with multiple utterances
- Using aided communication where the communication partner asks the questions and/or also uses the communication device as part of the exchange.
