I enjoyed my time at #CSUNATC17 this year.  This year I was able to present on Making AAC Fun and Functional.  While I have given local talks within my district, this was the first time I presented at a large conference.  It was both exciting and frightening.

Below is a link to my presentation.  I wanted to share some of the things that I have learned about using AAC.  In my session I share about:

  • Making core vocabulary functional for the child
  • Using modeling to promote growth with multiple utterances
  • Using aided communication where the communication partner asks the questions and/or also uses the communication device as part of the exchange.
